Sharing a video link

Every video you upload has a public watch page that you can share with anyone. There's no app to install, no account needed to watch.

  1. Open the video page.
  2. Click the Share button.
  3. The share dialog shows the link, plus quick buttons for the most common destinations.

What's in the share dialog

The share dialog includes:

  • A Copy Link button that puts the URL on your clipboard.
  • Buttons for sharing to Facebook, Twitter and email.

The link itself looks like https://vidreno.com/video/<id>. You can paste it into a chat, an email, your blog, or anywhere else that accepts a URL.

What viewers see

When someone opens the link, they land on the public watch page. That page has:

  • The video player with your title underneath.
  • Your description, if you've added one.
  • Vidreno chrome around the player.

If you'd rather show the player on its own (no Vidreno header or sidebar), use the cleaner player URL at /player/<id> or embed it. See Embedding a video on your website.

Rich previews

When the link gets pasted into Slack, X, iMessage, Discord, or anything else that fetches Open Graph data, your video shows up as a card with the thumbnail, title and description. Read more in How rich previews work on social media.

If you've set the video to private, the link will only work for you. Public viewers will see a not found page.
